SUMMER BERRY SMOOTHIE
This July it’s all about cooling off with refreshing smoothie recipes. From smoothie bowls, frozen smoothies and smoothies you want to dive straight in to, these recipes are suitable for the whole family. Naturally sweet, loaded with a diversity of fruit and veg, and taste great.
First up, is Evelyn’s Summer Berry Smoothie - creamy and sweet, this smoothie make the most of this season’s crop. Made with English strawberries and raspberries, this smoothie is a refreshing afternoon tipple for cooling off in the garden. The banana adds extra fibre and helps to thicken the smoothie, whilst the yogurt provides a protein boost, and the nut butter adds a healthy fat element. You’ll be sure to be coming back to this simple recipe, time and time again.
Summer Berry Smoothie Recipe
Servings: 2 medium glasses or 1 large
Ingredients
1 frozen ripe banana 100g strawberries
50g raspberries
2 dates
2 heaped tbsp greek yogurt
200ml almond milk
Method
Simply pop all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth.
Top tip: Don’t let the spotty bananas go to waste, they are sweeter and perfect for smoothies. Simply peel, slice and pop in an airtight container in the freezer)
