SUP Essentials

Staying hydrated - Chilly’s Series 2 Bottle, £30

We love Chilly’s new Series 2 Bottle as it has loop lid making it easily attachable to the front of your SUP board, ensuring you stay hydrated throughout the session. Particularly important if it’s a hot day. We’re loving it in Frost, Blush and Whale - classic B+G colours!

On the Water - Jilla Active, from £34

When taking part in SUP yoga (as long as the sun is shining), we recommend wearing activewear rather than a wetsuit - this will enable you to be more mobile on your board. The B+G team are a big fan of Jilla Active. For a hot summers day check out their Float Away Bamboo Top or if it looking a little chiller on the water see their Into the Wild Modal Top, it’s longsleeved and has thumbholes. Plus it’s made from a super breathable fabric, perfect if you do build up a bit of a sweat on the water. For the bottom half, we recommend their Capri length leggings (particularly loving the Radiant Ribbed Capri Leggings in Soft Blue) and their Every Move Cargo Shorts (these super versatile shorts are perfect for an outdoor active lifestyle and have a handy side pocket too!).

Don’t forget the layers! - Balance + Glo Boxy Jumper, £40 (available in mauve or stone blue)

It’s always good to have layers available when you’re out on the water. Obviously we love the B+G Boxy Jumper that we created in partnership with Rapanui. It’s oversized fit means it’s nice and comfy and pairs well with leggings on the water, but also looks great for a casual brunch date with jeans. Either pop in a dry bag and attach to your board or give to a member of the team who will happily keep it dry for you until you need it.

Skin protection - Alturist Family Sunspray, 250ml, £9.50

Our in-house GP and expert in dermatology Dr Pippa recommends wearing an SPF of 30 or above (even if it isn’t sunny). Make sure your suncream protects against UVA and UVB and has a Star Rating of 4 or above. Dr Pippa’s go-to suncream is the Alturist Family Sunspray - the spray bottle means its easy to apply, it’s coral friendly (so you won’t be causing any damage to the natural environment if the suncream was to wash off in the water), and cruelty free. Plus it is very affordable. Don’t forget a hat too!

SUP Board - Freshwater Bay Paddleboard Co Inflatable 10.6 All Round iSUP, £645

All the equipment for our SUP yoga sessions are provided. However, if you did want to invest in your own board we very much the Freshwater Bay Paddleboard Co Inflatable 10.6 All Round iSUP. Both Jenny and Evelyn have Freshwater Boards - they loved how they are inspired by the island, easy to store and nice and stable, key when testing out new yoga moves!

Staying Warm Post SUP - Rapanui’s Women's Organic Cotton Surf Towel, £40 (available in 4 different colours but we’re loving the pastel combo)

We love Rapanui’s Surf Towel. Made with organic cotton, it super thick and cosy! Perfect for popping on post SUP or warming up after a sea dip. Not only does it have super-sized pocket, it has a hood too!

Dry Off - Dock and Bay Beach Towels, from £23 -

Make sure you’ve packed a Dock and Bay Towel for drying off post sea dip or surf (hopefully you won’t need it post SUP yoga but good to have it to hand!). These towels are quick drying (3 times faster than your standard cotton towel), plus it repels the sand so you won’t end up with a bag full of sandy grains. Oh and did we mention they are made from 100% recyclable materials. They are also available in a range of colours and patterns - we love their botanical collection (check out the Orchid Utopia).
